Okay, i've been looking and wondering, if Waxahachie and Scarborough Faire (2nd largest in the state according to Renaissance Magazines listings in the back of the magazine) can offer preferred parking for "special guests" AND a season pass, why can't TRF offer such goodies?
Comments? (I would love to have a season pass)

I think a season pass would be a great idea for TRF. Management shouldn't worry that it might make the gate receipts any lower. Even if the people who bought the season tickets "loaned" them to their friends on weekends they didn't attend, the revenue generated by the folks that visited would more than make up for it.

I think season passes would be a great idea, but a tad hard to impliment or at least very labor intensive.

Growing up in Houston, I was a season pass holder for Astroworld for many years. 3 trips in 1 year would pay for the pass, but it was very common to buy it and only use it once. You didn't get refunds for unused weekends, and even if I did use it 3 or more times, I was still spending plenty of money on things like food and the midway.

However, the thing that Astroworld has over TRF is manpower. Running the Season Pass area would require some form of picture taking and computer data base to track the members. Then, when you wanted to get into the park, you would have to have some form of bar code or magnetic strip scanner to read the cards and track the patrons. All this wouldn't be cheap, and would require more than a ticket taker at the gates.

But, then again, you would see a larger return customer traffic, which gives you additional daily receipts from the merchants. Plus, think about all those addresses that you could collect for mailing lists and possible future performers or staff.

I would vote with my wallet if season passes were available, and I suppose that's the most important thing for the managers of TRF.

Depending on how you want to do the season passes, it can be rather simple. Season passes for adults only, passes are applied for and you have to give your drivers Lic # which is pre printed on the Season pass, no picture needed. You could work children several different ways, but it does take a little extra time.

Then there is the real simple way of just getting the yearly Tattoo on the buttock, show your loyalty and your collection each time you enter the gate :D

Ok, but only so long as the tatoo artist and the beefeater at the gate are both beautiful women. I'm not dropping trou for some ugly, fat guy. :D

Well, they have pictured passes for Participants already. Why not for Patrons too? It's really the next logical step...

and why not a female beefeater at TRF? They've finally got one on the tour in England with the Tower. As for ease of use, i like the idea of the "coupon" or even an id tag. Get your id taken on the first day, no problem on showing it to the beefeaters on entering. There are machines that do that sort of thing. I have only the concern of time. If time is a concern, then you don't have to. Laminating machines for id's are common from many companies now. Instant pictures, hmmm, ever hear of them TRF? And yes, those people who use it are more than likely to buy more items in the fair, food drink and etc...
okey day.

TRF did have a season pass several years ago. As I recall, they were not, exactly, a value at somewhere in the $275 - $300 range. When I lived near Bristol I was out every day, naturally, but the season pass was more like $75... Huge difference. And, yes, I can tell you first hand that the money I saved getting through the gate was *more* than made up for by what I spent inside. Arms and Armour managed several sales to me that year, Noble Armoury was where I lived and breathed, so I was pounding my own armour and paying heartily for the privledge (to the tune of $2,000 or so), and the tavern wenches knew me by name...

Then you must have an awesome set of armour. I don't think i could wear the heavies. I"m more of the peasant/small land owner type, wanting to be the heavy. Besides, i feel more in tune with wallace. small land holder you know.
