We will be at the Austin Celts thing in Fiesta Park. Seems a bit odd to have a Celtic Thing in a park with a non-celtic name.

So not I.

I would imagin there be a few Celtic Crawdads there as well. But not so much in cages or costume or running their own booths, but somehow worked into a stew or on a stick, or maybe in a nice potatoe or short bread or even a simple crawdad haggis.

I can just picture the little darlin's trying to pincher their way out of a sheep's stomach as it is boiling away. Surrounded by all the suet and oatmeal.

Aww suet....

Since our festival is rather new it is small but nice, most people do not dress, but the ones that do are true period dress.

I am looking forward to the Crawfish ( say crawdad around here and we know your a yankie) suasage at the Festival this year, we actually did not have it at the Celtic Festival. And even though it is at the zoo, yes we have NO gorillas :D

The one in Austin you have vikings, this year; SCA had a location last year; Romans; and Texas Coritani, a group who do early Britain's inhabitants. They limit the booths to about 20 or so. Lots of guys and gals in kilts. celtic dogs, scottish games, and food, but not so much period food as just food.

I few folks show up in their Ren outfits. But it mostly music an celtic dance.

No gorillas or other such folks.
