Here is a picture of a wooden goblet that was sold at TRF many years ago. I don't think the Dragonslayer sold this item but thought I'd check to see if anyone knows who may have made it.

That wooden goblet was produced by TNT Enterprises, in either 1978 or 1979. MIL did produce a wooden goblet in the late 1980's but it is not this one.

The festival considers that an official TRF collectible goblet, which was prior to MIL starting to produce TRF collectibles in 1986.

I bought this several years ago and thought I was purchasing the undated wooden goblet from Poland. After checking Paul's display at the Dragonslayer (I don't think a picture was available online) I determined that this one had come from another source. I was actually thinking of selling it, but will keep it since TRF considers it an authorized product. Thanks for the info, Chris.

I saw one on ebay and since I could not tell from the price listing if it was official or not, I let it get away from me. Could kick myself for that.

Months before I purchased this one I saw it available at an online auction, but I didn't buy it because, coincidentally, I was at a hotel the night before attending TRF. There is no way I was going to give my credit card info out over an internet connection on a PC at a hotel. No telling what kind of trojans/spyware might have been on it.

I'm pretty sure it was the same one you have posted the pic of. Could kick myself LOL.

Honestly, I'm glad I got it since Chris mentioned that it is considered an official TRF collectible, but don't beat yourself up for not purchasing the first time you saw it. You should be able to acquire this for less than 20 bucks.

Yeah, but I've only seen the one and that was on ebay, and you know how that goes. Get it when you see it, because you may not see it again.

I know what you mean. Wish I had the stats to give you like I do with the official tankards, but I am certain that I have seen at least two of these in the past 3 years. I'll bet you get a shot at one in the near future. Keep an eagle eye out!

Always do, money permitting.

Gentlemen,

Where is the best source for obtaining some of the older TRF collectables?

The best source for obtaining TRF collectibles is the Dragonslayer shoppe at TRF. You might find items for less elsewhere but you never know if/when they will be available. Even the Dragonslayer does not have all items from previous years available at all times.

I find that ebay is the most convenient place. You don't have to drive anywhere, but you will (usually) have to deal with competition to procure them.
Finding TRF collectibles is not any different from hunting any other collectible; you simply invest the time and effort and keep your eyes open. You'll find them everywhere. I have found mine at garage sales, auctions, estate sales, etc.
