Good question Dicksie! I work for NASA and these techno kids know a 100 times more about computer technology and the WWW than I. I'm just trying to catch-up with the techno kids

What type of techno support do you need?

Not so much techno support just wondering why none of our Garlands and Swords&Shields or Flights of Fancy kidos have made their presance known on the Forums you know a little young blood plus it would keen them off all those sites they shouldn't be on.:D

As I was making my way through the TRF grounds, I would stop at all the MIL properties, introduce myself and take photos of some of the employees. Most of them seemed to be aware of Dragonsquest.com but some of them (mainly garlands, swords & Shields, and surprisingly a couple mini-dragonslayer employees) did not seem aware of this site. A few that had heard of it said they haven't visited.

Does MIL management advise all employees that there is a web site where they can share stories or contribute ideas? If so, we must remember that not everyone will be as passionate about TRF as Dragonsquest or R/F members. Another consideration is that there was a shortage of applicants at the job faire this year. The priority is to get workers trained for their jobs as quickly and thoroughly as possible. I agree it would be nice if more of the employees would visit ... the more the merrier. :)

MIL does make it aware and repeats it often to the contractors. The forums actually started as a private forum for MIL contractors and we extended it out to the public since I had spent a lot of time developing it but little activity from the contractors other then core members.

I think some of the issue is that most contractors during the run are so busy working at TRF and going to school or doing a real job, that most do not have the time.

As we continue to build from year to year, I can only assume that the contractors will participate more and more as the value of prior knowledge will become more evident as we continue to add posts.

Thanks to everyone who is on the forum and I hope that we can continue to keep it alive throughout the year.

I will be starting planning for changes and will start working on them in January. Some will be seen, others will be behind the scenes.

Please let me know anything, good or bad, that you think will make the site even better in the years to come.

Thanks Chris, for all that you do to support Dragon's Quest and the forums. I think maybe as people realize that it is just a great place to find feedback from fellow workers as well as patrons. I was really intemidated by the whole idea of a MIL/TRF chat room, now I make it a point to log on each day.:D

Its great Thank You.

Ditto on the great job that Chris does with Dragonsquest. I'll bet more MIL employees will be seen on here next season as word spreads on the quality and features of the forum.

I agree, this IS one great forum and Chris has done a fantastic job of keeping it going. I know I've said it before, but it's worth saying again,

Thanks Chris!!

Here's to more MIL team members (and TRF patrons) joining in on the fun.:)

How would we keep up with what's going on with TRF and everyone we've gotten to know here on the boards? I know we all appreciate what all Chris does.

Thanks Chris!!!!

I think maybe if we as forums members let others know what a great place it is to be all year that maybe the younger folks might check it out. They love my space and I would much rather have my kidos out here knowing that they are always watched over, just like they are at festival.:D

I tell everyone I know that is even a little interested in TRF to come here and check it out. So far, I've gotten at least three folks to sign up. (two of them have yet to make a single post though). I've even posted links to a couple of posts here in the TRF forum at renaissancefestival.com, so hopefully I've enticed some of the members there that didn't know about this forum to come over, have a look around, and possibly even sign up.

R/F.com has a good TRF forum as well, but to me this is the best place to hang out when it comes to TRF.:)

We do have a lot of R/Fers who have signed up here at DragonsQuest. They probably check out the cams and see what the topics of discussion are, and some of them even join in. There are more threads about camping and gatherings at people's homes before and after the TRF season over on the R/F forum. Both forums provide a great service to the grandest faire of all. :)

I never ment to imply that they weren't, I just know the folks here and they know my kids. I guess if I went to the RF site I would know people there:)
