Here's most of my collection. I say 'most' because I've got a few duplicates that I have packed away. No reason to have them out.

Very nice collection, RHW! I also like your spacious cabinet. The top row with the Real Musgrave tankards from the 80's is awesome.

I'd like to ask about a few items in your collection:

The aluminum (or pewter) tankard that is 4th from the left on the upper left-hand shelf - What is the inscription, date etc.?

I don't recognize the ceramic half-tankard, 5th from the left on the upper left-hand shelf. What year/theme is it?

The aluminum (or pewter) tankard on the far left side of the upper right-hand shelf - does it have a date on it?

Finally . . your 1998 tankard with gold highlights and lid . . I want it I want it I want it I want it!! :D

That is the 2003 Kings Feast tankard. My wife got it for me because all she knew was that "I didn't have this one". I don't actually collect the wine and feast items.

That is the 2005 coffee mug. Again, my wife. :D

No, it doesn't

So did I when I saw it sitting on a shelf at a garage sale for $5.

Hmmmm . . wonder what the origin is of that undated aluminum tankard?

As for the 1998 tankard with gold plated lid and highlights . . . I am extremely jealous of you. That is one of the best finds/purchase stories I have EVER heard!

I have only seen those steins one other place, and they are all hanging in the POW. That was the day we walked in with the baby and were promptly ordered out. I got mine from ebay; I paid $10 for it.

Personally, my 2 most exciting finds are the aluminum horn with bell ($15) and the aluminum steins with the glass bottom ($8 ea) . But that's because of early memories of TRF.

That's the 2005 coffe mug. My wife wanted it because that was the year our youngest was born.

I've only seen these at POW pub. I hope I don't get into trouble for having it. For all I know it's for exclusive use at POW.

Hey RHW: could you look on the bottom of your 1998 lidded tankard and let us know how many of that style were issued? I've heard two figures and don't know which is correct. One source said that 116 were produced and another source said 216. Thanks.

Yes sir. My stein is numbered 42 of 216. So there's your answer. :)

Thanks . . I appreciate you looking that up. I've seen that figure before, so there must be a typo in the TRF Tankard Guide. They list it as a series of 116.

Dannae, can you, Chris, Nancy or Robin let me know if any of these steins are available so that I can pick them up opening day. I understand there is a policy that steins cannot be held, but I suspect that is because of the unpredictable nature of those who say they will be there at a certain time. I've purchased many tankards from The Dregonslayer since 1982 and will definitely be at TRF on the morning of opening day (earlier if you need me). I will also have several tankards with me to trade in if you are in need of these particular models. Please advise (even by private message if needed) if any of these will be in stock and available.

Thank you,
Martin

That's too bad because I'd be interested in some of those same steins myself.

Thanks for the info, RHW! I'm not in the market for that particular one, but I might put a bid in on it if it doesn't run too high. The raised letters and image seem to be in pretty good shape. Now if I can just budget in a bigger cabinet to put the tankards in . . :)

I'm in the same boat considering shelf space. You can see from my pics that I'm really tight on space. I will soon be having to decide what books/trinkets/space wasters wil have to go so that I can get more steins on the shelf.
