Hello,
Although I’ve been signed up in the forums for quite a while, I’ve never really said very much before recently, and now it seems I might have committed a Faux Pas by not doing a introductory bio. I’d like to fix that now.
I first started attending TRF in 1980 when I was in my teens, and have gone to every session for the past 20 years. I don’t know if anyone here remembers the glass-blowing couple of Theda and Foster that use to do demos at TRF, but I have a cabinet full of their work in cobalt blue. I miss seeing them out there.
Six years ago I had to leave Clear Lake City and move to Ohio to follow my mundane work, but I still make the trip to TRF each year, even if it means I don’t travel anywhere else for the rest of the year.
I’m not a musician, even though I have a hammered dulcimer sitting next to my computer desk at home, just waiting for me to some day to learn how to play it. (All it takes is time I never seem to have.) But I still love to sit and listen to The Gypsy Guerrilla Band and Wyndnwyre for as long as they’ll play.
One of my favorite things to do at the faire, (now to be considered a tradition), is to drink a bottle of wine with Marsala and Haley, makes for a pleasant rest of the day.
I might have to wait for TRF a little longer then most, (last weekend), but I am soo looking forward to being there!
That’s it for now, and hope everyone forgives me for not writing sooner.
