Thought I would start some conversation on how far everyone is traveling, where from, and where everyone is staying.

We travel from West Monroe, La, stop in Dallas to pick up a friend and head to Houston. It is a little over a 1,200 mile trip for us.

Currently we only have one weekend we are attending, Nov 10th.

The last couple of years we have stayed at the Magnolia Inn, In Magnolia. So far the room has always been clean, no bugs, bed and linen are good, and everthing works in the room. Rate around $125 a night.

We have talked about staying in Conroe one year.

Up until a year ago, I lived about 20-30 minutes from TRF. Now we are about an hour away.

My boyfriend and I drive from just North of Austin Texas. It takes almost 3 hours (depending on how excited we are)!! We leave really early and drive home really late. There are faires closer, but none that are as tantilizing as TRF. I'd make the drive even if it were 5 hours!

We go to faire at least two weekends, but we have puppies so we can't camp. We did stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Tomball last year for one of the weekends. It was exceptionally nice for anyone interested.

It's almost a 2 1/2 hour drive each way for me. My lady has some physical limitations, so we don't camp. We'll drive up for the day some weekends, but will get a motel for at least one weekend (usually Halloween).

We have stayed 5 of the past 6 years at the Courtyard Mariott in the Woodlands and it was a nice motel. It is in a safe neighborhood and there is lots of entertainment if you have the energy at the end of the day. Their prices took a significant leap the the past couple years so we will be staying at a motel in Conroe this time (it's closer to TRF as well as less expensive). We'll also drive up for the day on 2 or 3 other occasions.

I live about an hour and a half away from faire. We usually just drive to and from the same day but this year have decided to try the whole camping thing.

Some day I hope to camp, but with a 2 year old and a wife that thinks that camping is a less than desirable activity, it won't happen any time soon.

I think it will take about 5 hours to get there but I have to stop around Austin to pick up a fellow rennie and from there it is about 2 hours.

Rapier I agree with your wife and have only given in to the whole camping because I was outvoted 3-1 and they had to meet my conditions such as a heater for the tent and an air mattress for me to sleep on. That and hubby must accompany me to the portapotty and check it out before I go in. lol

Well, I'm jealous and can't wait til we can join everybody else and go camping too.
Hey! If it's not too much trouble, can you take some pictures and post them here so that those of us who can't go camping can at least live vicariously through you? LOL :D

That is a good idea, I would like to see some of the camp grounds.
