  1. Smoke Signals

    So I have to share this with everyone. Nancy the Tall sent out letters to all of the MIL veterans that have already indicated that they are returning for this years Texas Renaissance Festival. In this message, she wrote "You can call, write, email or send smoke signals, but let us hear from you ASAP!" in regards to which days each veteran could come.

    Always trying to rib each other in any way we can, I figured I would respond to her request with the closest to smoke signals ...

  2. Back on VPS

    We are back on the VPS. It is still not where I want it to be but at least the forum is back online and I can get working on the cameras. The Facebook connection is also not working well yet, so don't spread it too far!

  3. Fedora Core 6 on VPS

    So the better part of today has been spent trying to upgrade the VPS to 5.3 PHP. This process required upgrading mySQL. This has taken a lot longer than hoped!!!

    The issue I have with the Linux community is standardization. The reason why Microsoft and Apple still are leaders in the desktop space is that dependancies for system files and cross-linking is mostly taken care of by the developers of the software by incorporating the necessary files into their installer packages.   4. So, while I have been working on the site.......

    I have been in a battle with Windows 7 and losing. When people in the future look to the past, I guess that they will look upon Windows 7 as how we view Dragon's today. Beautiful but extremely unreliable.

    My Macbook Pro has been used recently mainly for doing DJ mixing practice (a hobby of mine) and had run out of disk space and memory. I will tell you that when a Mac runs out of either, IT STILL WORKS!! Can't say that about Windows.

  5. Frustrations

    So I am running the site in a Virtual Machine session on my computer at the house right now. The system is decent but running Windows 7 Ultimate and has too many issues to count. The VM is Windows XP running Apache, PHP and MySQL, which is actually stable if it wasn't for the host system crashing.

    The VPS we have needs to go from PHP 5.1 to 5.2. When we got the VPS it was good but is Fedora 6 with most stuff stripped out. PHP 5.2 isn't built for FC6 in an RPM but trying to get ...
